Time to invest in pumpkin-spiced lattes and walk freely through a patch of crunchy leaves – Autumn has once again arrived! Autumn is the season of change, the leaves change colours, trees look bare and our wardrobes are filled with jumpers, boots and coats. As much as I love Spring and Summer, there comes a point where I feel ready and willing to wear my winter coats, cardigans and boots.
When it comes to changing seasons, it’s something that some of us may struggle with. After all, we all have our favourite season of the year, surely? However, if you are someone who isn’t a particular fan of Autumn or is dreading the colder days and nights, this post might just help you.
Here are some ways you can enjoy and embrace the Autumn season?
1) Take Autumnal walks
Going for walks in the park when Autumn arrives is the best. I love seeing the leaves gently fall from the trees and the colours around me are just beautiful. I love to wrap up warm, take a lovely gentle stroll and just embrace the Autumn surroundings. While you’re out and about, take some photos of anything that you find beautiful about Autumn in your local area.
2) Look out for some new knitwear
You can’t beat the feeling of cosying up on the sofa with an oversized jumper on! Whether you buy a new one on the high street or give a second-hand jumper on Vinted a new home, make sure you have plenty in your Autumn wardrobe for when it starts to get nippy!
3) Decorate the house for Autumn
Etsy is full of cute and aesthetically pleasing Autumn decorations for the home. Whether you decorate your living room, bedroom or even your front door, Etsy has you covered for Autumnal decorations. Or you can be really creative and make them yourself at home. A fun activity for yourselves or if you have kids. Plus you can keep them and use them next Autumn – a win-win!
4) Treat yourself to a pumpkin-spiced latte or hot chocolate
Or whatever hot drink tickles your pickle. I do prefer to drink hot chocolate in the Autumn/Winter months as coffee isn’t my thing. I find it so much more. refreshing (for want of a better word) drinking hot chocolate in the colder months. If you’re thinking of asking which coffee place does the best hot chocolate, the best has got to be Hotel Chocolat hot chocolate (if there is one in your area) or Costa’s is a pretty good one.
5) Have a declutter
It seems to be a precedent to have a declutter every season. But it’s time to sort out your Summer wardrobe or things you have collected over the Summer and make way for the Autumn items in your house. I like to declutter every season as it’s amazing how many clothes/items you accumulate over the space of a few months!
6) Buy some Autumn scented candles
I’d pretty much say that Autumnal candles/air fresheners/wax melts are on sale now. After all, we are in September. Just having that Autumnal scent float through your home is so refreshing and can really pick you up and put you in that Autumnal mood.
7) Visit a pumpkin patch
This is something I have yet to do, but I would absolutely love to visit a pumpkin patch this year! You can get your Halloween pumpkins and it’s also a great photo opportunity!
I hope I’ve gotten you in the mood for Autumn now!
