It’s that time of year when we’re beginning to browse, plan, back up plan and coordinate an outfit or two for the Christmas party or Christmas works do. Whether you want to go with the traditional Christmas jumper look or go full on glamour with sequins and sparkle, there’s a Christmas party outfit out there for everyone.
In past Christmas work do’s I have been to (and got home late from), I’ve never really gone for the most all-out glamour look. I think sometimes on a Christmas night out, I always sway towards comfort – only to stop myself from freezing my nips off in the cold outdoors. However, the one regret I do have from leaning towards that sense of style is that you can be comfortable but still look as easily glam. The one way to do that is one word – sequins.
When people think of sequins, the almost instant reaction is glamourous. Which is true to an extent. But sequins can be worn in a casual manner as well as a glamourous one. Also, sequins may not be for some. I’m one of those who doesn’t really have sequins in my wardrobe. You don’t have to wear a full sequin outfit if you don’t want to look too dressed up. You could wear a sequin skirt and a plain top, a sequin top and plain trousers.
Ok, so if you have a sequin dress and you’re unsure of how to wear it, here’s a little idea for you. Add a pair of tights, boots of any heel you prefer and a blazer. Even though it may feel like you’re covering up, the sequins will still glimmer under the blazer!
