9 Beauty Essentials For A Staycation

We’ve reached the time of year where we’re all looking to book somewhere for a well-needed break. I think it’s clear that the word ‘staycation‘ is the new buzzword for 2021 and are favouring a break here in the UK than going abroad to seek sunnier climes. I’ll be going on my first trip in August to Liverpool (my happy place) for two days and I literally cannot wait!

Well, wherever you and/or I are off to, there’s no denying that we want to look our absolute best. We want to look relaxed, refreshed and bronzed. Whether that be achieving a glowing tan, keeping skin looking and feeling hydrated or achieving those beach waves, there are always those must-have beauty essentials that you absolutely cannot leave your home without when travelling.

I don’t know whether this is just me, but my beauty essentials have changed over time. Whenever I have been travelling, my beauty needs and what I class as essential, change. Usually, it’s due to the time of year I am travelling or I’ve come to realise that I don’t need to the entire contents of my overstuffed makeup bag. It don’t half take up hefty space in the suitcase. It’s important to know within your makeup/skincare routine, what you can live without. It’s time that you save the time and energy of sitting on your suitcase to make it shut and pack essentially.

Here are my beauty essentials for a staycation –

1) FOUNDATION  //  CONCEALER

I will without doubt be packing my Lily Lolo Mineral Powder Foundation. I use mineral powder foundations as my skin can get quite shiny, especially in the Summer and I need something to take that unwanted sheen away! Also I’ll be packing my Lily Lolo concealer as I need to hide those dark circles!

2) MOISTURISER

Now, I can’t tell you which is the best moisturiser to take as all our skin needs are different and we all use a moisturiser that nourishes our own skin differently to someone else. But yes, moisturise, moisturise, moisturise.

3) MASCARA

Oh god I need a mascara to complete my makeup look, I’ll be packing my Benefit Tinted Mascara Primer and also my Lancôme Idole mascara. Yep, I use two mascaras. Well, technically, the one is a primer so I guess it’s one, right? Ah well, I’ll be making room for both!

4) SPF

Could SPF BE any more important?! For the love of god, don’t forget to pack this. Even if it’s going to be cloudy, it’s so important to pack on the SPF sunscreen for your own protection. Don’t come home burnt AF because you conveniently forgot to pack your sunscreen. The lobster look isn’t a good look, believe me.

5) BROW  PENCIL

I’m sorry, I am literally one of those people who loves their brows looking good when I actually take the time to do them. I use an NYX brow pencil and this, without doubt, will not be forgotten about and are a much needed part of my beauty essentials.

6) CLEANSER  //  CLEANSING  DEVICE

With masks needing to be worn in public places, it’s important to cleanse your skin in the morning and evening. I use a foam cleanser as that helps my skin the most. I’ll be using the PMD Clean device to help the cleanser replenish my skin even further.

7) FAKE  TAN

This may not be one of my beauty essentials to pack away, but it could be for you. Or maybe it could be that you apply it before you go away anywhere. I use the Bali Body tan as it doesn’t give off a funny smell and it goes on like a dream.

8) HEAT  PROTECTION  SPRAY

If you’re going to be styling your hair multiple times during your trip, whether that be washing it, straightening or curling it. you need that all important heat protection to keep your hair in good shape!

9) PLASTERS

Take it from me, you’re gonna need them. Want to wear those new pair of shoes? Odds on you’re going to get a blister. Take my advice, pack a box of plasters just in case. Last thing you need is to be hobbling around cause there’s a sore blister on your toes or back of your foot.

These are my beauty essentials for a staycation! There probably is more to add to this list, but I think these are the ones that I will most definitely need when I take my next staycation!
