So much is said for the white shirt. To be fair, it is a classic and can pretty much be worn for any occasion, casual or work. I have a fair few white shirts in my wardrobe, all different styles of course. You can’t have enough white shirts in my opinion. Anyway, that’s my ode for the white shirt done and dusted. Let’s talk about a different colour shirt – the blue shirt.
The blue shirt is just as classic as the white shirt. Like the white shirt, the blue shirt can be worn in different styles and on other occasions. I have been looking high and low for the perfect blue shirt for everyday wear. I finally found the perfect one from *Mango and I just adore it. It’s THE perfect blue shirt for any occasion and I already know I’ll get plenty of wears out of it.
If you’re wondering what ways you can wear a blue shirt and need some outfit inspo, then you’ve come to the right place –
1) Outfit 1
This one is the perfect day look. I have styled it with a pair of New Look straight-leg jeans, my Veja trainers and my Dune crossbody bag. If you wanted to wear this as an evening look, add a pair of heeled sandals. I am wearing these ones (in the second picture) from NA-KD (they are SO comfy for heeled sandals).
2) Outfit 2
I have an obsession with linen trousers of all lengths. They are the ideal trousers for Summer days. Here, with this look, I have paired the blue shirt with a pair of black linen trousers, as well as a pair of white ones. For the shoes, I used my black sandals (New Look) with the black linen trousers and a pair of tan sandals (also New Look) with the white trousers. You could even pair it with white sandals or nude sandals. The black mini tote bag in the first photo is from New Look. The tan bag in the second photo is from Topshop (old).
3) Outfit 3
This look is my favourite. I love tailored shorts as they can be dressed up or down. These shorts are from Nasty Gal (bought on Vinted) and I’ve pulled the look together with those New Look sandals and a Topshop bag.
4) Outfit 4
I felt I needed to create an office look for those who do have to venture into the office nowadays! This look is quite versatile in its own way. If you wouldn’t prefer to wear these tailored trousers (from River Island), you can wear a white pair instead. Funnily enough, I do have a pair of white tailored trousers, but they were in the wash at the time of shooting these photos! I’ve added my Amazon mules (old) and that New Look mini tote bag.
What I love about these looks is that if you don’t have a blue shirt, a white shirt can work just as well with these looks too!
