The waistcoat trend is still as popular as ever. I’d say it’s even more on-trend since I last wrote this post about how to style a white waistcoat. One aspect I love about a waistcoat is that it can be dressed up or down. How many different outfits can be styled around a waistcoat is pleasantly surprising. Whether you’re dressing up or down, a black waistcoat is a useful item of clothing for any occasion.
Since I bought this lovely black waistcoat, I’ve loved how many outfits I’ve been able to style the waistcoat with! Below, I have created six outfits that can be worn for any occasion!
Here are six outfit ideas for a black waistcoat:
Outfit 1:

I adore the chicness of this look. You can wear this outfit to the office or for drinks in the evening. If you don’t fancy wearing heeled sandals like these ones from New Look, you can swap them for something like Adidas Sambas or flat sandals. The trousers I wear are from *ASOS and the bag is from Furla.
Outfit 2:

The perfect brunch outfit. Waistcoats aren’t just for smart occasions, they are made for casual occasions too. I like how the waistcoat works with these New Look straight-leg jeans and Stradivarius slip-on mules. I’ve accessorised with this stunning M&S bag that I got for half the price on Vinted!
Outfit 3:

If you’re looking for a cute office-style outfit, look no further. I adore this outfit. It’s perfect for the warmer months and it’s so chic. The shorts are Nasty Gal (bought on Vinted) and the shoes are my faves at the moment. I’ve used the same M&S bag as in the previous outfit.
Outfit 4:

Now, I’m still sceptical about this outfit. I wanted to see if I could casualise the waistcoat even further, but I’m not sure if this works. I’d love to know your opinions on this one! The jeans are from Bershka (bought from Vinted) and I’m wearing the classic black *Converses. I’ve added the same Furla bag as before.
Outfit 5:

I’m obsessed with this outfit. There is the risk factor with wearing white trousers, I’m scared of these getting stained! The white trousers are from River Island and the black and nude slingback heeled sandals are from New Look. The bag is the same M&S one as before.
Outfit 6:

The more I look at this outfit, the more it grows on me. If you don’t like to just wear a waistcoat by itself, undo it and wear a vest top or tee underneath! The trousers are the same ASOS ones as before and the white vest top is from H&M. The Furla bag is the same as before.
